Head of the Jakarta Nakertransgi Agency, Syaripudin, said International Workers' Day is an important moment not only to commemorate the global labor movement but also to reaffirm the spirit of togetherness, solidarity, and partnership among workers, employers, and the government.
This aligns with the May Day 2026 theme, "Collaborative Efforts to Advance Industry and Shared Prosperity", along with the tagline "One Determination, One Goal, Shared Prosperity".
"In Jakarta, we remain committed to promoting constructive social dialogue, harmonious industrial relations, and the protection of workers' basic rights as part of efforts to build a more advanced, prosperous, and inclusive city," he explained.
He added the event aims to strengthen solidarity among workers, the government, and employers amid economic uncertainty, while promoting fitness and fostering a positive May Day atmosphere.
"This is certainly a challenge for both employers and workers. Strong communication among the tripartite elements is expected to be further enhanced to ensure business sustainability and the welfare of workers and their families," he said.
He noted that the event demonstrates that May Day can be commemorated in a healthy, positive, and engaging way.
According to him, the activity not only promotes physical fitness but also strengthens ties among stakeholders in the labor sector.
Syaripudin also called on all parties to use the May Day momentum to reinforce strong tripartite synergy in Jakarta, in order to create harmonious, dynamic, and fair industrial relations in line with the city's preparation toward becoming a global city.
